I attended a Guild of Master Sweeps course to compound and correct some of my knowledge and skills in the Chimney Sweeping Industry in 2009. At which point I realised, like many, there is a great deal more to being a “Chimney Sweep” than “pushing a brush up and down a chimney flue”!

In addition in 2019 I achieved the only nationally recognised qualification in my field of work, The NVQ in Chimney Sweeping, and became Aberdeenshire 1st and one of the 1st in Scotland, an award I am immensely proud to promote to the industry, public, local authorities and government combined with the environmental improvements we can help with in educating the end user and fuel suppliers by assisting in investigating and improving poor installations and preventing dangerous incidents , be that Fire or Carbon monoxide poisoning caused by miss use or misunderstanding the correct use of the appliances.
